Current Market Scenario

Equity market bounced back and crude prices fell after ceasefire between US and Iran. However, volatility has returned to the market, after the ceasefire broke down. Brent crude price has jumped from $70 per barrel to $90 per barrel in the last one month (source: Bloomberg, as on 22nd July 2026). The US dollar has been gaining strength versus other major currencies and precious metals. Gold prices firmed up from Rs 1.4 lakh per 10 gram to Rs 1.44 on a month to date basis (source: MCX, as on 22nd July 2026). The 10 year Government Bond Yield firmed up by 9 bps from 6.75% to 6.84% on a month to date basis (source: Investing.com, as on 22nd July 2026). After having been net sellers for 4 consecutive months, FII net buy stood at Rs 17,553 crores in July MTD (source: NSDL, as on 22nd July 2026). Nifty 50 TRI has been volatile, whereas the US market index, S&P 500 has risen by 1.1% in the last one month (source: NSE, Bloomberg as on 22nd July 2026). With US Iran war escalating and crude prices rising, there is uncertainty in the market.
