New India Assurance’s Good Health Mediclaim Plan is available Citibank Card holders. Overall, we think it is a good plan but health insurance needs of every individual is different. Therefore, you should evaluate your health insurance needs and see if it your Good Health Mediclaim is adequate for your wife’s and your healthcare needs. Here are the limits of hospitalisation claims for Good Health policies.

You should review these limits very carefully and determine if these are sufficient for your needs. You should consult your doctor and your health insurance advisor, if required, to review these limits based on specific medical conditions that your wife / you have. You should note that, any Hospitalization expense relating to a “Pre Existing Disease” is not payable in this plan. “Pre Existing Disease” as per this plan is defined as, “any condition, ailment or injury or related condition(s) for which the Insured Person had signs or symptoms, and/or was diagnosed, and/or received medical advice/treatment, within 48 months prior to the date of commencement of the first Policy”.

One great thing about this plan, unlike some other Mediclaim plans is that, there is no upper age limit for renewal. Persons above the age of 65 years are allowed to renew their policies without having a change in sum insured. However, you should note that, your wife and you cannot increase your sum insured, even if you think your sum insured is not enough for your healthcare requirements. Therefore, while the New India Assurance Good Health Plan in our assessment is a good Mediclaim plan, as discussed earlier, you should consult with your doctor and health insurance advisor if this takes care of your wife’s and your specific medical needs.
