Should I remain invested in ICICI Prudential US Bluechip Equity Fund

I have been investing in ICICI Prudential US Bluechip Equity Fund - Direct Plan - Growth for 3 years now through SIP. But the fund has not given desired return as on date it is around 10%. What shall I do, should I shift to other fund or should wait for some time. Please advice?

You have invested in an Equity-International Fund.

This scheme was launched at a time when Indian markets performance was below par and the US markets were doing well. ICICI Prudential launched this scheme to help investors have global exposure as the international diversification helps in bringing about stability to investors portfolio and enables participation in growth beyond home frontiers.

Investments in equity or equity oriented mutual funds warrant a longer investment horizon of at least 5 years or more.

Therefore, if you are looking at diversification of your portfolio to international equities and can remain invested for at least 5 years and more then you should hold on to this investment. Chances are that your fund might benefit from recovery in the US economy.

However, if you are not looking at international diversification of your portfolio then you may redeem the fund and invest in Indian schemes in accordance to your risk taking ability.
